Paraphrase of a Telegram from Sir M.Nathan to Mr. Lyttelton.
(Received, Colonial Office, 4.30 p.m. 7th December,1905)
My telegram of to-day; present proposal of His Majesty's Consul at Hankow is for remittance of
£400,000 to be made on October 6th to Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank at Hankow in repayment of temporary loan and remittance of £700,000 to be made on same
date to Chinese Minister at New York. This involves
some alteration in agreement.
Please cause effect
to be given to foregoing arrangements on my tele- graphing "Agreement signed".
